Now that it’s June, we’ll sleep out in the garden

The song above means so much to me. I’ve listened to it on the first of June for 10 years, and it’s also a big part of my relationship (and business motto!). Shawn and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary on June 1st, our last one as single people before getting hitched this October (which is exactly 4 months from today). Just crazy.

“This year needs to slow down” said one of my best friends today. I couldn’t agree more. It is June, with the first official day of summer creeping around the corner. I can’t seem to catch my breath, and my busy season hasn’t even begun yet. I don’t want to say I have abandoned these posts, that it’s more like a hiatus until life settles a bit. But does it ever? Free time lessens, and my workload begins to pile. But this is what I love about this job. I will bury myself in it, feel overwhelmed and panicked, but it makes me feel such a deep passion that no one but me (or any photographer) can understand.

My dear friend Christina has been adventuring with me for the most part of the year, and with both of us being photographers, we’ve captured a whole lot of pretty. I can always count on her to join me on any excursion, at the drop of a hat, and with no question to “want to take a road trip?” With wedding season in full swing for the both of us, we cherish the days we can photograph anything at our leisure. With our second trip to the Brimfield Antique Show, day trips to BK and a garden party at Terrain, we most certainly submerge ourselves in what we love.

Here are a few stills from the last few months. The summer has so much to offer, and regardless of being bananas busy, I will pick up my camera to catch my first heirloom tomato ripen, farmers market trips, sandy beach days, backyard dinners and the reappearance of sun freckles on my nose (only happens once a summer!). The next few months are going to be wildly exciting, folks. Life is a really warm and wonderful thing. But yeah, it needs to slow down, and so do I.
